Custom Residential Construction For All Your Home Improvement Needs
re•store
to put back to an original state
Restoration means bringing your home’s condition or functionality back to the way it was. We have real experience with both primary types of restoration: Historic Restoration: The objective of a historic restoration is to bring the house back to the way it was at some point in its history. Do you wish to bring it back to the way it looked when it was first built or sometime thereafter? This requires a unique skill set to achieve period correct results. Some neighborhoods and districts require any renovation work to be performed as a historic project, very often at least on the street facing walls. Keep in mind that historic restorations do update the inside of the home to reflect modern technologies and may also include some interior remodeling and/or an exterior addition. We are proud to have performed extensive historic renovation work including a property on the National Registry of Historic Places in Boston. Disaster Restoration: The objective of a disaster restoration is to bring the home back to the way its condition prior to the disaster occurring. This also requires some skill sets not all builders have, such as when a home is flooded and dealing with the water damage to the parts of the home not being replaced such as framing. We have many lessons learned in this area including a notable project in Rhode Island where we restored three separate properties that had all been flooded by the same storm each with over 8 feet of water meaning it literally filled the structures above the first-floor ceilings! |

re•pair
to fix by replacing what is worn, broken, or requires maintenance
House repair is necessary when a specific component of your home is not performing or working the way it is supposed to and needs to be repaired. So, when stuff breaks, we “fix it.” Given our experienced craftspeople and trade partners, this usually means we can provide a significant savings in time and money verses paying for a total “replacement.”
